The XYS Roller Series offers a choice of straight-line swivel or XY movement. Essential in providing Omni-directional movement in custom applications.
Hilman provided this laboratory (4) 15-XYS series rollers for the support and alignment of a 22-ton magnet located in facility. This project required modifications with a special concave spherical bearing between the two roller units. The bearing provided the rollers omni-directional movement and leveling abilities in order to line the magnet up precisely with the accelerator beam line. Please note the laboratory added an additional clapping mechanism to the rollers seen above.
Hilman XYS Roller Series is a double roller system offering a choice of straight line swivel or XY movement. The swivel plate and pin assembly connecting the two halves is completely removable, so each half can operate alone as a high capacity roller dolly. When used together, the top roller half swivels while the bottom half rolls in the Y plane.XYS action provides for misalignment of beams, allows for some skewing of the Y roller, and prevents the roller from binding.
